Decatur Community Based Facility and Community Work Center opened in May 1981 and is located on 11 acres in Decatur, AL on Highway 20. Inmates participate in work release programs in Morgan, Limestone and Madison Counties. The Center also offers drug treatment and helps inmates overcome substance abuse through aftercare and NA/AA programs. Decatur is unique from other centers in that each work release inmate is required to perform a minimum of three hours per week of pro bono community service. The Decatur Community Work Center is classified as a minimum custody facility.
The agency shall ensure that all allegations of sexual abuse and sexual harassment are referred
for an administrative or criminal investigation.
