Media Relations
The Alabama Department of Corrections Public Information Office is the primary point of
contact for media related inquires regarding the Department. Please refer to Administrative
Regulation 005 to access our official media policy.
The ADOC Public Information Office is responsible for keeping the media, and thus the
public apprised of significant events that happen within the Department, while ensuring
accurate dissemination of information and appropriate access without disruption of security
or operations routines. Furthermore, it is the philosophy of the ADOC Public Information
Office to be as candid as possible with the news media to ensure accurate dissemination of
information consistent with the security and privacy interests of the Department, its staff,
and the inmates confined in ADOC, all in an effort to better educate the public on the
workings of the Alabama prison system.

Public Information Manager.
Public Records Requests
All requests for inspection and/or copy of public records must be made in writing and submitted
on a Public Records Request Form and
may be emailed to public.records@doc.alabama.gov;
mailed to ADOC, Attn: Research & Planning Division, P.O. Box 301501, Montgomery, Alabama 36130-1501; or hand delivered to,
ADOC Central Office, Attn: Research & Planning Division, 301 S. Ripley Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104. The Requestor
should read and follow the Instructions for Requesting Inspection or Copy of Public Records,
which is included with the Public Records Request Form, before submitting any request. All applicable fees
and costs of document production apply. Public Records Requests by telephone or fax will not be accepted.

Policy on Inmates Using Social Networking
ADOC Inmates are not allowed to have social networking sites while
incarcerated in the ADOC. These sites are a security violation and will
be shut down. If you suspect or know of an inmate who is in violation of
this policy, please report the suspicious activity or website to I & I
by sending us an email
or by submitting the Investigation Request form. I & I will notify the appropriate
social networking site(s) and request that the inmate's page(s) be
deleted.
